Explore the Possibilities
The idea of participating in an adoption can be over-whelming. It's both an exciting and challenging experience. We encourage you to contact us, just to explore the process.
For the Birth Family
You will meet with a knowledgeable, loving staff that has a long history of working with birth families. They understand that your situation is unique and that you need a place to talk through your options. You will have the opportunity to learn about potential adoptive families. You will be able to share your values and concerns regarding the future of your child. Once a placement has occurred you will be able to continue to meet with the staff to work on adjustment issues. The Miriam Project will help you maintain contact with the child through pictures, letters or visits.
For Adoptive Families
When you call The Miriam Project, you will find a supportive, helpful, and caring person who will listen to your concerns and answer your questions. You will be given an Application Packet which you may fill out at your convenience. Components include: an application form, a medical history form for each spouse, a financial sheet, four reference forms, a fee schedule, and a fact sheet. The Miriam Project will conduct a Home Study, which involves visits to your home where your environment and family may be observed. You will be asked to sign a statement of faith.
